Hi, I'm Yvonne

Alan and I started Bay Tree in December 2003 not long after we moved down to the South Coast. We love it here but soon realised that it was sadly lacking in decent furniture shops, in fact dated "pine" furniture is done to death down here. So we bought a furniture factory and started to design our own furniture and having experience with paint effects and interior design, it became a natural progression to introduce both these into the mix. Alan hand makes all our joinery and furniture items with our team, Joe, Funo and Gugu, in our little factory in Margate.

I, myself, love to source beautiful quilts, cushions and other decor items. As a consummate browser myself, I always encourage that in my shop and I know that there's only one thing better than finding that perfect little item that's just what you were looking for, and that is to realise that it didn't cost you the earth either.

So, in short, we are passionate about Bay Tree and endeavour to offer affordable but quality home accessories and furniture.

More than just a Furniture Store

We are a bit different to your average furniture store, and our customers like it that way. We have a gorgeous mix of New Country, Shabby Chic, Old English and more. It’s elegant but not expensive. Gift choosing is a breeze with such a large selection of beautiful items in all price ranges, and putting together cushions and linen for the bedroom is easy with our helpful advice. Towels, lotions and soaps complete the accessorizing of your bathroom.

Visitors travel from all over the South Coast and often further afield just to visit Bay Tree. Our customers are always pleasantly surprised at how much choice there is at Bay Tree. It has saved many a long trip further afield just to find that right item or gift. For many local customers, it has become a weekly ritual, just to pop in and enjoy the ambiance of the place. Relaxing and beautiful with lots to see to entice and delight.

This website is to let you know some of the products and services we offer, and to hopefully entice you to come and visit our store. Customers are more than welcome to purchase items online, or give us a ring and purchase something over the phone, and we can post it to you.
