Ordering and Payment

Simply click on the item you would like and the item will be added to your shopping basket. You can then adjust the quantity you desire. Postage costs will be added at the end and are based on weight/volume.

Bay Tree offers secure online payments through Paygate which accepts Visa, MasterCard, Diners or  American Express credit cards. (A Paygate account is not necessary when ordering through us.)

If you would like to pay by cheque please make all cheques payable to Bay Tree and send to Bay Tree Home and Décor, PO Box 152, Izotsha, 4242. Please include your contact details.

Alternatively, you can pay via Internet Transfer into Bay Tree Home and Décor, FNB 250062, 62101815069. Please fax through proof of payment with contact details to 0865 186 146.

Credit Card Processing

Credit card transactions will be acquired for Bay Tree Decor via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for Standard Bank of South Africa.  PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website.  Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy. 

Customer details will be stored by Bay Tree Decor separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site.  For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa.  Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Packaging and postage prices

At Bay Tree we are doing our bit to help the environment by utilising and recycling all packaging. This means that your goods may not be contained in a brand new box, but all of our packaging is clean and fit for reuse. We take pride in ensuring that you will be delighted from the moment you open the box. Because we all hate paying P&P, we have tried to make our delivery charges as fair as possible. Therefore we have the following structure. We do not hide our delivery charges in the cost of the product and we do not make any profit on our delivery charges. Although it is done by value, it is also calculated by weight or volume and is always at cost. In fact, on some heavier consignments sent by post, we actually lose money because we will not charge more than quoted below!

Postage prices are based on weight and the current postage rates:
Order value up to R200 : R28
Order value R200 - R600 : R42
Order value R600 upwards : R58

Furniture items are priced as follows:
To Durban, Gauteng and Pretoria : 12 % of the value of your order (minimum R240)
To PE and Cape Town : 15 % of the value of your order (minimum R250)
All other outlying areas, please contact us to get a quote prior to ordering.

As you will already have received a receipt via Paygate, we will not automatically include a paper copy with the goods. If you would like a receipt, please let me know.

Delivery & Order

From personal experience, we know the anticipation you have once you have placed your order. It's our aim to ease your pain and ship as soon as possible, even within the same day if possible. But please allow up to 7 business days for delivery. Some items may, however, be out of stock or special order. In this instance, it may take up to 21 days to deliver your goods.

If you are sending a cheque, we will need to wait 10 days/2 weeks after we receive it to process the payment. Goods will not be sent until we have received and processed the cheque.

Furniture items made to order can take up to 5 weeks depending on our queue - we do everything in strict rotation. We are a family run business with a small dedicated team working on your order and our standard is high and consistent with each item although small differences may occur as each piece is individually made so we hope you will bear with us on our delivery times.

Within 24 hours of you ordering, we will email or sms you with delivery information and/or tracking no. A signature will be required so please supply a delivery address where someone will be present during the day. All smaller items will be sent normal parcel post and will require collecting from your nearest post office who will require presentation of your ID or driver's licence. If you have an earlier delivery date in mind, please contact me in order to avoid disappointment. Once we dispatch the goods, we cannot be liable for any delay by post and to this extent we will not enter into any compensation agreement due to the late delivery of any item.

Please note that we currently only deliver within SA only. We are happy to accept overseas orders, please contact us for a price on postage and packaging and prices depend on weight and destination.

Customers who require delivery for a certain date should phone us to ensure this is possible.

Cancellations

You have the legal right to cancel your order within 7 working days of receiving the goods under the distance selling regulations. However, returning the goods to us in the condition they were dispatched, is your responsibility and we will either refund or exchange them.

Returns Policy

Customer Satisfaction is important to us and we hope that you will be happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, you can return items to us within 7 days, unused and in its original packaging, for an exchange or refund. Return postage costs will only be refunded if the item was faulty. Items made to your own specifications cannot be refunded. Our guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights. Please contact us for the correct address at which to return the item to. We do not accept responsibility for postage of returned goods. However, in case you are sent a faulty item, we will reimburse you. We can only accept products that are not torn, used or altered. You are entitled to a full product refund if goods are sent within 7 working days of receipt.

Data Privacy

At Bay Tree your privacy is our priority. We are comitted to protecting your privacy at all times, in all situations. The information we collect about you when you order is used to process your orders and to provide a more personalised experience on our site. Bay Tree will not share data with any third party or other company to be used to perform statistical analysis.

Your name and address information is used solely to process orders unless your prior consent is given. Without your consent, this information will never be sold, given, rented or traded to others for purposes other than order fulfilment. Your demographic information (gender, date of birth etc) will be used for several security purposes to ensure you are who you say you are and are in fact paying with your credit cards and not someone using your stolen credit cards.

All Bay Tree employees take your personal information very seriously. All employees must learn and obey our security policies. Access to member personal information is limited to key management personnel only. The information and ID is password protected and our web security is reviewed on a monthly basis. Customer information is kept strictly confidential on secure encrypted servers. Bay Tree does not retain credit card information and we do not and will not pass your details on to any third party.

We abide by the requirements of the Data Protection Act of 1998.
