Before the industrial revolution all spinning and weaving was done at home. Each family member would have one of the many tasks that go into the making of cloth. Spinning was one of these and being a highly skilled and time consuming occupation the women who did not marry would became the spinner. Hence the term ‘spinster’ was coined.

The high quality pinstripe throw is made of 60% Imported Italian chenille yarn and 40% South African cotton finished of with a linen border. Don’t be fooled, by this throw’s luxurious and soft look and feel, it is very durable and can be washed in your machine. This is one of those heirloom pieces that can be handed down to your children and grand-children.
